PNGTS has an application before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to increase its capacity by 42 million cubic feet a day, about 25 percent. That increase can be achieved by increasing deliveries from upstream pipelines and would not require any construction or ground disturbance. No existing customers would be impacted as to rates or quality of service.
There may come a time when the need for additional supplies of natural gas requires additional pipeline infrastructure in New England. Until then, PNGTS is working to get the very most out of the assets already available.
