The construction of the PNGTS pipeline has had a significant positive impact on the four state economies in which it operates. In addition to creating jobs and improving household earnings, PNGTS will continue to be a major source of property tax revenues to the host communities.

Most Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont communities depend on local property tax revenues to fund a significant portion of local services. On an annual basis, PNGTS will pay in excess of $6 million in property taxes to the communities along its right of way, even though utility facilities like PNGTS place no discernible demand on local services. PNGTS is, and should continue to be for many years to come, an important, large and stable addition to the tax bases of its host communities.
